Today We're Celebrating

Start off today by celebrating. What is it that we can celebrate with you today?

Here is one thing we’re celebrating over here at Dance Studio Empire: My client Jeanne sent me a Facebook message about her enrollment this morning and how she is up over last year.

Our Erin Burd Weekly Live Show shot its 100th episode this month. In this blog, we’re going to celebrate that milestone by sharing some of my favorite episodes and nuggets that were dropped.

One of my favorite show titles was 99 Problems, But Money Ain't One. I don't know why that just cracked me up. We talked about how to handle your finances, how to increase your revenue like a boss and make it rain. I don't want money to be a problem for you. I love doing math. I know not everybody feels like they love doing math, but math is the answer to your money problems. I love doing tuition revamps. I love showing studio owners how easy the math can be.

Other episodes that make me smile are the ones where I have one of my clients on to share their journey and their experiences. We showcase their growth and successes because I'm so proud of them for putting in the work and getting the results. I really love to show people what is really possible and we do that through seeing what other studio owners accomplish. It’s one thing for me to sit here and say, “if you do this, it will happen.” But when you have real live studio owners who are in different parts of the country, different countries, different parts of the world then you see all this is possible. I think that's powerful.

I loved having some of my guests like Joyce come on and share how she added 160 new students in three months and how Amber was able to recover from the pandemic through hard work.

I’ve had some of the industry guests on the show and sometimes I totally fangirl it out. I had all my friends from Under the Big Top come on and we chatted about the event. And now I get to call all these fabulous women my friends.

Do you believe in magic? Did you guys see that episode where we dove into creating magical experiences for your clients? What about the episode with Andrea Trench from Discover Dance? When it comes to early childhood education, preschool dance, infusing props, and developmentally age-appropriate curriculum we definitely vibe. And I'm going to tell you that while kids are kids. We also have to be aware of how the world has changed because of the pandemic for our preschoolers. Go back and get some tips, tricks, and pointers.

Adam and I dove into SEO. Jennifer Randall always drops nuggets about running ads and Miss Julie Kay and I always have so much fun together. And so many more great guests that it’s hard to mention them all: Tricia Gomez, Erin Pompa (to me she’s Miss Erin Pride, but now she’s married), Joie Gharrity, Damien Brooks, Adam and Vicci from Little Beats, and so many more! You can see all the episodes here.

One of the things I love about doing the show each week is I get to teach the teachers and I get to teach to the owners in studios. We are often the bottlenecks in our business. We can start to celebrate the wins every single day and find the silver lining in situations. We can lean into all that is possible and magic will happen inside of our business.

It’s not helpful to sit in a place of fear or perfection. It stops us and holds us back. Sometimes we have to just take the leap of faith. Sometimes we have to just say yes and figure it out. What I see happen so often is something doesn't work out or we have a failure and we stop. There is no successful business owner who hasn't failed. We still have to get up, dust ourselves off, and try again.

The other day I posted that the key to success is taking action and repeating it over and over and over again. I've failed. I have failed greatly and I have felt shame. But you know what? I get my ass up. I dust myself off and I try again. It is about having grit and tenacity and being so tied to your vision of what you want your life to be that you are relentless in that pursuit. We have to be so committed to our vision that we know failure is part of the journey.

My hope today is that we all commit to finding joy, taking leaps of faith and not waiting for tomorrow. If you need support then get support.

I commit to doing scary things.

I commit to betting on myself and believing in myself.

I commit to joy this year.
